Thanks

Thanks to everyone who attended the
New Year's Eve 2003
Rocky Velvet Party!!!

We were 90 very happy new year's people that night, with
good weather and no damage done (except for Moose's back,
but that was totally unrelated to, and prior to, the party
- ask X-tina...)

I would like to thank, in particular, the following people:

Jeanette - the idea originator, securer of band and hall
Tony - for keeping Jeanette in line

Jason - the seller of the most tickets
Christine - the buyer of the most tickets (from Jason...)

Jeremy - the balloon man
Robyn - for pizza and decorating/setup
Anna - for stocking the bar and selling tickets
Darren & Liza - for bringing the DJ gear and mirrored ball
Bob - for lending us some lights
John & X-tina - for amoral support and ticket sales
Brenda - for particularly amoral support
Former girlfriends - who haven't had me put to sleep, yet...
Amber, David W., Angelica - for promotional help
Jess & John - for the spectacular floor show (literally...)
The Roach - for keeping everyone on their toes

And of course thanks to Rick and David L. for DJ'ing the night away
and promotional support; and to Rocky Velvet for one of their best
shows. I think you may have earned yourselves a few new fans.

May the rest of the new year be as fun and exciting!

Hey everyone!!! I'm very excited for the New Year's Party! I'll post a thread on Yehoodi today or tomorrow (feel free to come to Yehoodi and post on it.... www.yehoodi.com .... in the Discussion Northeast section). Maybe we could recruit some out-of-towners?

Also, I'm in charge of drinks for the party. Donations are encouraged! Later on, I'll post a list of things we'd like to have at the bar and people can sign up for certain things if you want. I'd like to have a nice selection of things so that everyone can make there favorite drinks for NEW YEARS!!! WOOHOO!

Here is the New Year's website, that Barry made:

Big Fun!

Thanks for the suggestions.

It has been mentioned at Savannah's (in Albany), on several Tuesday nights, that song title suggestions would not be complete without including the Allman Brother's. They tend to be blues-y southern rock - dare I say the "L" word?

As to methodology

  • It is currently fashionable.
  • Last year I tried using an on-line Web-based form for song title suggestions.
  • This way everyone gets to see what was contributed and they do not have to use a formatted response
  • For the truly geeking - you can also include most HTML formatting in your response, links are particularly encouraged (a href = " " ...). The only problem, don't hit the Enter key (i.e. new line) unless that is where you want a line break - otherwise let the system do line wrapping for you

David Bowie - The Singles Collection (Vol 2.) - 13 - Modern Love
Eric Clapton - Unplugged - 03 - Hey Hey
